So the salt which contains a good amount of sodium chloride can be used for acne. Table salt and sea salt are considered good for pimples as both contain a high amount of sodium chloride.
One question may arise here “is iodized salt good for your skin” or “Is iodine good for skin infections.”?
Because table salt is also known as iodized salt.
According to a research, Iodine is not so effective for wound healing but it works as a good antiseptic agent. So you can use table salt for pimples but sea salt may be more effective. (2)

Sea Salt Spray for Acne
To make sea salt spray you need a spray bottle. To make saltwater spray add three parts water and one part sea salt into a bowl.
Mix it well and pour this into the spray bottle. Wash your face and spray salt water on face. Close your eyes or tide a cloth on eyes before spraying.
Use it one to two times in a day. If you want to reuse it you can refrigerate it. Mix it well every time before using it on the face.
Steaming Face with Salt Water
Face steaming open skin pore and increase blood circulation. If salt is added to the water face steaming can be more effective for acne.
Wash your face with mild facewash and dry it with a towel.
Add 2 glass hot water and 4 tablespoons salt in the bowl. Put a towel on head and take steam on the face for about 15 to 20 minutes. Keep your eyes closed while steaming face.
Dry your face with the towel after some time. Steaming face with salt water is effective acne treatment.
Sea Salt Application with Cotton
Sea salt application with the help of cotton is the easiest way to use this effective remedy.
First of all, add 5 tablespoons of sea salt in one cup of water. Dissolve it with a tablespoon. Before applying it with the cotton wash your wash with mild soap of facewash.
Now take a cotton dip into water and apply this cotton on pimples. Wash your face after some time. You can apply moisturizer after this if you feel your face is dry.
Sea Salt Mask for Acne
Sea salt mask is another good remedy for acne treatment. To make this mask add three tablespoons hot water in a bowl. Now add one tablespoon sea salt and mix it well. Now add some honey to it to make a paste.
Apply this paste to the pimples affected areas. Let it dry for some time and wash with warm water after 15 to 20 minutes.
Honey has antibacterial properties and keeps skin moisturized as salt water mask can make skin dry.
Aloe vera gel can also be used if you don’t want to use honey. Aloe vera also contains anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It is also used for wound healing and acne treatment. It also keeps skin moisturized.
Sea Salt Scrub for Acne
Sea salt scrub is another alternative treatment for acne. Use fine grind sea salt and pimples are painful don’t try this scrub.
To make sea salt scrub take one part sea salt and add 1/4 part coconut oil in this. Now add some drops of tea tree oil in this. You can also add olive oil in place of coconut oil.
Coconut oil has the property to fight acne and other skin problems. Wash your face and apply this scrub on the face. The scrub should not be too hard and apply it in the circular motion with fingers.
Wash your face after some time and use any moisturizer if skin becomes dry.
